Dinking is a shot that happens at the non volley zone, the intentions of this shot is to land a ball somewhere in your opponents non volley zone to make there paddle go down. The entire idea behind pickleball is make your opponents paddles go down, with hopes of them lifting the ball high for you to speed up or attack. The mechanics of a dink, use your shoulder and arm like a lever with a one piece swing. No back swing needed, let the energy of your opponents ball do the work! Happy dinking, become a good dinker and use the dink as a weapon and move your opponents!
Backhand drops in NVZ are a great way to transition up to the non volley zone. This shot is a must to learn for most players will want to attack you on your backhand. Good contact point out front with a small swing from high to low will help create the arc this shot. Slightly open paddle face, with moving through the shot will make you a pro in no time!
Forehand Drops into your opponents non volley zone is a great way to transition up to the non volley zone. This shot is a must to learn for you to become a well rounded player. Contact point has to be out front, and apex of ball (the highest point must happen on your side of the court in order for the ball to land in opponents non volley zone. I use top spin on this shot to help the ball dive, which makes it more of an aggressive drop to attack on 4th shot.
